What wonderful news regarding both the engagement & the transplant. I'm crossing my fingers that you're found to be both sick enough & well enough for them go ahead with it and a winter wedding sounds lovely. :)

Jaimi

I'm still here :-)

I hope everything goes well with the transplant! A friend of mine got a double-lung transplant a few years ago (he also has cystic fibrosis) and he is doing amazingly well now. Congrats on the engagement as well!

Congratulations on the engagement! A winter wedding will be absolutely lovely, I am sure. :)

As far as the transplant at BWH, you really couldn't ask for a better place to be for that. The Brigham is an AMAZING hospital with amazing caregivers. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get the news your are hoping for from the transplant team when you are here next.

Best of luck to you, as always...

Hey Findingher...

Congratulations on your engagement!!! I've been with my princess for 20 years and we've been married for 18 -- I hope your marriage is as happy as mine has been!!!

And -- I hope all goes well with your assessment at Brigham & Women's Hospital -- and I hope your transplant journey is wonderful. Findingher -- this breathing stuff is FREAKIN' AWESOME...

Like you, I too have cystic fibrosis -- I'm seven years post transplant and this still blows my mind every single day. You won't be able to appreciate it until you have it -- it's really very difficult to discribe. Like me, likely all you've known have been lousy lungs (even though you may THINK you remember when they were not...) Breathing with "real" lungs is something beyond belief...

My lungs came from a beautiful 17-year-old girl from Iowa named Kari... In the month before she passed, she told her family twice how strongly she felt about organ donation -- my lungs were failing rapidly and I was dying when she brought her beautiful smile into my life...

I have a little website with some of my story at www.ClimbingForKari.org

I hope your journey, recovery, and life after transplant is as wonderful as mine has been...

I also contribute to a blog here on typepad -- I contribute with a guy who received a kidney from his Mom 10 months ago -- and a close friend of my donor... Our blog is at www.ReviveHope.com

You hang in there -- I'm rootin' for you!

Love,

Steve

Congrats on your engagement!! I'll be praying for your lung transplant!

I don't remember how I came across your blog, (maybe you posted to the knitting or crochet community on livejournal?), but I've subscribed to your blog for a couple of years I believe. I rarely comment on people's blogs.

I'm commenting now because I really want to say congratulations on your engagement and that I wish you both lots of happiness and to tell you that my fingers are crossed for your transplant.

I'll be waiting to read the good news soon!
