Back! I haven't updated while I was recuperating because well, my brain was fried. I've been doing home IV for ten days, get it taken out tomorrow (!!) and then can resume normal life. I have been knitting, but I try not to allow myself to post pictures until I've woven in the ends (as otherwise, nothing would ever get finished). Right now, my works in progress are an Irish Hiking Scarf in the discontinued yarn, Pingoun Fleur de Laine (which I wish wasn't discontinued...it's a wool that I just really love.)
I really love working on it, as it's so simple, yet I love cables.
And I'm working on a hat in Philadelphia Eagles colors (my boyfriend, alas, is a traitor to the Patriots). The yarn is Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride worsted. I work on this one on the day when Andy's at work, or if I'm visiting my parents. I work on the scarf, when I'm not visiting my parents, or at home at night.
Now, some yarn arrivals ( I still need to take pictures of my Peace Fleece, too.)
Mystical Creations yarn!
Merino sock yarn in Desert Sunset, worsted wool in Hummingbirds (destined to be a Clapotis, more on that in a few), worsted cotton in solid Blue Wisteria, and more sock yarn, in Angel Love.
Fabulous colors, nice feeling yarn, can't wait to use it. I LOVE Hummingbirds, I bought it when I still didn't know what to do with it. I chose Clapotis because I'm always getting cold in the hospital, and wanted a shawl to throw on my shoulders (can't throw on a sweatshirt easily with an IV) I never thought I'd make a Clapotis, but I figure that it's the best warm shawl choice for me.
And a lovely live journal user (I use Live Journal for my personal ranting journal :) ), sent me a surprise random package of yarn. Look how great this is, and how awesome it was to get this in the mail completely unexpected!
Debbie Bliss wool/cotton (first Debbie Bliss yarn I've ever owned, and so nice) ggh Aspen that I think will become a hat, Brown Sheep handpaints in black, maroon, and cream (love the color combos. ALSO might become a hat, and perhaps a pair of matching mittens. I think the stripes would look awesome) and SOCK YARN! I love sock yarn in these colors! Everything was wonderful, felt good, and they were all colors I would buy on my own. How often does that happen when you entrust other people to buy/give you yarn? Yay! Thank you LJ buddy!!
And last, what the title is about. Andy and I are going to Vegas the week before Christmas, the 11th to the 18th. What would you, or have you done, in Vegas? I think Vegas in the holiday season has got to be completely awesome and beautiful. So, Christmas at home in New England, but a trip to someplace new right before.
